LETTERS TO KILA

day breaks  

the sun peeks through the mountainous landscape, orange in its glow

I feel a solemn nudge... today, there is light 

a gentle stirring in my body moves with the slow rising glow in the sky 

my deep inhalation reminds me of the heart break I am nursing 

the void between my arms and the breathing body of my youngest child

the light, bright 

its warmth fills my body like his familiar hugs

son shines in my heart
